77Germany were terrible. Couldn't hit a barn door and should have been four up at half time. They seemed to get six players in the Japan box and the one worst placed would take a shot.... badly.

80Belgium were my favourite to win but they need to settle down after a poor start v Canada, otherwise they’ll be following Germany and Argentina in the list of failing big teams.

87Answering my own question. No. John Aldridge played for RoI in the World Cup finals in Italy in 1990.
