Re: Exiles Grandstand - Newport County v Gillingham

Gills make their first visit to Rodney Parade.
It'll be the first League match between both clubs since 1986 / 1987.

The Gills have three players who've previously had spells with County.

1. David Tutonda, loaned from Cardiff City during 2015 / 2016.
On leaving County he joined York City on loan. During that loan spell with York, he visited Rodney Parade. He took part for most of the match before being subbed. York won 3-0.

2. Jordan Green. After the first of his two spells with County, one of the clubs he played for before rejoining County was Yeovil Town.
Yeovil's visit to Rodney Parade in 2018 / 2019 saw the Glovers thump County 6-0, Green scoring twice.

3. Dominic Jefferies.
Jefferies had a spell with the Academy before signing a scholarship.
He made six first team appearances, all cup matches. After a one month loan to Salisbury, he made two further appearances for County before being released after not being offered a professional contract.

Gills have scored only six goals in total in seventeen L2 matches though have a better defence than County, conceding just nineteen despite their low position in the table.

Game has a 0-0 or 1-0 either way written on it but who knows.

Being a pedant if we play 442 with two wingers, who do you envisage being on the end of this barrage of crosses?
Probably the linesmen

Agree with you on both counts.
whatever the formation just hope to see greater energy and enthusiasm without the ball and greater positivity with it, compared to the Stockport game.
