How stupid would you have to be to be a Tory MP and not be rich?

That's a point. I wonder who the poorest Tory MP is? I suppose there's an argument that the poorer they are the less time they can afford to commit to being an MP.

1) the '£730 million' is 'paper' wealth tied up in assets and other ventures - he doesn't have anywhere near that in 'liquid' albeit he can't plead poverty 2) whether by hard work or an element of luck (in his case probably both) would one of us apologize for having £73,000 leave alone many times that much? good luck to him I say 3) nobody can be worse than Truss!
