Re: Grandstand: Leyton Orient v Newport County
47I think the main difference this year is that we are an improving team on the up. Whereas last year we had just lost our best two players ( copper and twine) and on the slide. At least I think that was last season?ghosty wrote: January 25th, 2022, 11:47 pm After 27 games last season we had the same number of wins, draws and losses. but better GD this season

48Also to be noted how far back Bolton were this time last season.Robster wrote: January 26th, 2022, 12:36 pmI think the main difference this year is that we are an improving team on the up. 49Great to read all your comments re Orient match
Clearly shows some belief, the squad is gelling AND we are not a one man show
Massive respect for JRs style as a manager and individual...
Good times ahead is not wishful thinking.

Re: Grandstand: Leyton Orient v Newport County
51That’s a very good point and being perfectly honest I had certainly thought it was a decent result to get a draw there, so glad the team didn’t!excessbee wrote: January 25th, 2022, 11:25 pm Well, that was a great effort. The whole team worked and worked for ninety minutes and individually and as a team imposed themselves on the opposition. We seemed to have more belief than Orient and thoroughly deserved the win. It says a lot that when us fans were probably thinking it's a point well earned, the team wanted more.
Incidentally I mentioned on another post that when the forwards fail to score it’s important for the midfield and defenders to pop up with the odd goal…

52Can anyone remember our 2016 visit to Orient,a1-0 win with a very similar goal.Randall corner,at the same end, flicked on by Marlon and finished off at the far post by Turley. This time a Cain corner flicked on by Pask for Norman.Just one of my anorak observations.
