Thought it was harsh personally, but obviously didn't have any affect on the game.

Looked nailed on red from where I was but hey.
Their other player that was subbed at HT Hannant(?) should definitely have been given a red instead of the yellow

The red appeared to be given on the recommendation of the linesman, and he was a lot nearer than me. Perhaps i'm not keeping up with the way the games are being reffed nowadays. As he got quite a bit of the ball as well as the man, may have been deemed a good tackle a few years back.

I agree, a few years ago it would have been a great challenge but nowadays you can’t challenge like that. Loads of red cards been given lately for the same type of challenge.
It is what it is, didn’t alter the result but Hannant should have gone first half.

The term won the ball doesn't apply these days, you could fly in ,win the ball and not touch the player and still be adjudged to be reckless and sent off. Personally i thought it was red at the game and more so when i viewed the video

The only thing I would say is that the ref took much longer than normal when a red is dished out. It is normally a quick card flash. So just wonder if he was getting advice from elsewhere ?

I was about 80 yards away, so really wasn’t sure, but my mate instantly said “He’ll be gone for that”.

So he was right at the time, but now I suppose he’s wrong
