2Definitely play Man City. Estimates of £500,000 profit from beating Boro makes it a no brainer to me.UPTHEPORT wrote:If offered and only one choice no sitting on fence

Re: Would you
4Man city for sure.
Playoffs are a lottery. Build the squad and be in a better place to make a crack at it next year.

Re: Would you
6Man City, get the money in the bank, finish in the top 10, then build next season.

7Play Manchester City.... put up extra seats, get as much money in from FA CUP as we can...
Without money this club will achieve nothing. Play-Offs can wait, although currently, we only need a 15% improvement to reach them too!
So maybe both?

Re: Would you
8Playoffs for sure, chance of promotion, worth a hell lot more than being mugged off by city's second side
Re: Would you
9If I'm honest I would probably say play offs...
We've gotten more out of the cup in last two seasons than most other league two teams have had in the last 20-30 years, I would say we've been spoiled already!
Who's to say we cant do both though?..

Re: Would you
10A one off game against a fringe Man City side or the chance to get into League 1? No brainer for me.

Re: Would you
11Play offs anytime.
1.Chance of promotion
2.Easier to get players in for next year - "reached play-offs want to push on this year and all that."
How much money do we need - must have made 1.5m for the cup in recent years
3.What's the point in supporting a club that finishes 13th but goes on a cup run every year
4.Money doesn't guarantee a good position in the league - even if we went on to play Man City or further that money wouldn't guarantee us promotion, remember Luton Moneybags Town in non-league.
If we're anywhere near the playoffs we should go for it - to add to our history and for player and fan morale

Re: Would you
12Play Manchester City. In recent years my interest in Premier League football has diminished. However, I'm still of the opinion that reaching the playoffs and maybe getting a lucky break and promotion might not be the promised land.
Re: Would you
15Man City. Let's be honest, even if we snuck into the playoffs, it'd be a big ask to win them. And even if we did, we're a million miles off being able to compete with the standard of clubs in the Third Division. Far better to bank some money, generate yet more interest in the club from the local community, and continue to make ourselves a sustainable club at Div 4 level. That, in itself, is a miracle given where we were twenty years ago.
