Who was the first black or person of colour to play for the County

Anyone know

First one I can remember is Neville Chamberlain early 80s but I’m sure that there was one before ?

At a guess Steve Mardenborough.

My dad who's memory isn't the best thinks we had a black player in 50s

First black player I saw over at SP (against us) was Albert Johannsen who played for Leeds. 64ish. Maybe later.

I remember the wonderfully named Ces Podd playing for Bradford City in the early/mid 1970's.

According to Ambrosen, Neville Chamberlain was the first black player to play for the first team in 1983. Mardenborough didn't arrive until 1985.

I remember there was a Nigerian who played for the reserves in about 1970. Because he made no first team appearances he is absent from the records. Perhaps others can remember him as well.

I remember watching Richard Brown in the reserves in the late 70's but he never made the first team
