Re: Last night's ref
2Agreed. Another who didn't give a foul every time a player fell to the ground, and didn't allow players to 'pinch' yards at throw-ins.

5Agree re recent refs. Given the harassment they can get from a minority in sport, it’d be nice if there were a way for fans to voice their approval when they get things right. I hope managers/clubs do so.

7A great idea that! Not sure how that would be skewed by high attendance clubs but some sort of poll would be good. Good performance needs rewarding and a nudge to the assessor wouldn’t hurt.landinho wrote: January 26th, 2022, 4:24 pm Agree re recent refs. Re: Last night's ref
8Yes, he was good. A bit surprised he didn't book the Orient player who scuffed out the white spray for their free kick after the ball was placed a bit nearer the goal. He did make them move the ball back. Perhaps his assistant could have helped him out on that one.

9Just a thought.
Referees bettet of late. Results better of late.
Coincidence?

10Maybe not, you may have a point. I’ve been pilloried in the past by claiming we don’t get a fair rub of the green from referees - and never have! Perhaps a more professional attempt at training and assessing refs will help to remedy that. Anyone on here remember a certain W H Mann of Worcester back in the Somerton days? Thankfully I’ve seldom seen anything like it since.Stan A. Einstein wrote: January 26th, 2022, 6:17 pm Just a thought.
