2Be good to see this at the end of the season because instinctively it don't sit right with me. You've told me before that I shouldn't look at form until the last few games ..but I do - that is the team we currently are - not what we were at the beginning of the season or last season or what other teams were like - recent form, for me, better predicts the next match results - I can't see us getting that number of points unless current form changes dramatically but I would be happier as a fan to take your prediction over mine!!!newgroundrodney wrote:Here is Mike Flynn's managerial record for League games after 87 games (Grimsby away)

Re: Our LEAGUE record under Mike Flynn (87 games) :
3Well currently, we're the 11th best team in the division, despite what the League table may say, cos all teams have to play 46 games. A team that has the same number of points as another, having played a game fewer is clearly a better team than the other. The only time the League table makes any sense is if ALL teams have played the same number of games.Fourthousand wrote:Be good to see this at the end of the season because instinctively it don't sit right with me. Not sure how they're doing lately, but at one stage Man Utd had won 6 on the bounce, and STILL weren't top by a long, long way, which proves my point about current form being nonsense. Current form is for betting purposes, that's all, like a dog's last 6 races, tells you nothing about how the dog has done over his career, and is no guarantee how he'll do in his next 6,or even his next one.
Re: Our LEAGUE record under Mike Flynn (87 games) :
4I thank you NGR for your stats. Obviously you have put time and effort in producing them. Hopefully your end of season prediction becomes a reality, because at the moment I don't believe many feel we will finish as high as 11th at the end of the season. Of course I presume we have or are due to play more FA cup games than any other League 2 team, and this must be having a negative affect on our current form. Only time will tell.
Re: Our LEAGUE record under Mike Flynn (87 games) :
5It's not a 'prediction' it's a projection. I'm not predicting anything, although last season I think it ended up just one place, and two points out. The season before, interestingly, I was calling it weeks in advance, that we'd "stay up, probably by 2 to 3 points"....OLDCROMWELLIAN wrote:I thank you NGR for your stats. 6Ok. I stand corrected. I 'd be satisfied with your projection, especially so if we reach the 5th round as well.newgroundrodney wrote:It's not a 'prediction' it's a projection. Re: Our LEAGUE record under Mike Flynn (87 games) :
7Interestingly, since Flynn took over, 62% of the points we've collected have been at home.

8Interesting stats I wonder what the average home v away points % is I would have guessed at 70/30newgroundrodney wrote:Interestingly, since Flynn took over, 62% of the points we've collected have been at home.
