Hamzad Kargbo signed? Empty Hamzad Kargbo signed?

Reportedly seen wearing a County shirt with his name on the back at Hereford. Young and very inexperienced so fits the pattern. But he is a centre forward and if he is the tall black player who came on late against BC I thought he gave the team a different, more threatening look. So welcome if this is true.

If I’m not mistaken he played in the friendly at Undy. He’s a big unit but didn’t pose an enormous threat imo

I wasn't impressed with him v Barry Town United but note that a few from the 1912 podcast were. He'll be competing for the central striker role with CBR and presumably Jephcott, though Jephcott looked more like an attacking midfielder v BTU. I suspect CBR, Jephcott or Kargbo will be engaging the CB's and that goals are likely to come from the likes of Spellman, Greaves and Rai from the wings or Antwi, Wildig or Morris from midfield...

Don’t disagree with that but for a big lad he didn’t put himself about that much when I saw him.

A big lump of a lad who doesn’t seem to have the necessary skills of a forward, in that he can neither score with his feet or head. He has been a trialist in every friendly so clearly not standout, and in my opinion would only be signed as a very cheap replacement for Will, and an indication perhaps that Huw will not be parting with any transfer cash.

Kargbo was a defender until he was 18.

It confirmed that Hamzad Kargbo has been signed by County. No word about length of contract.

Underwhelming. If this is Evans replacement we are in trouble

Well I must admit he didn’t impress pre-season, we need the forward coach to help him use his physique to better advantage against L2 defensive excesses. Having said that, let’s give the lad a chance. I do agree though that it’s yet another risky signing.

Paul Hall the QPR coach talking about him on the QPR forum - “ Loft for words”

“….I should ask you who is the next Eze but I’m sure you’ll tell me it’s unfair to name names”

“It would be unfair because as I said somebody can suddenly progress out of nowhere. If you saw Hamzad Kargbo’s goal today, he’s taken the ball outside the area, spanked it into the back of the next. He’s a big unit, I wouldn’t want to be marking him, once he’s able to pull it altogether then he could be a real good asset for somebody. When somebody puts a cross in and he goes to attack it I’ve rarely seen anybody attack a ball as good as him in the air.”

If the lad makes the step up then, we’d be sorted - and if he does, we’ll probably flog him next year for another £200k 😂

More from the QPR forum -“ Loft for words”

“Somebody’s been brave enough to tell Hamzad Kargbo he’s no longer required. We’ll always have that Clive Allen-style goal at Hampton & Richmond, but also that long afternoon by the municipal swimming pool having the Slavia Prague fans laughing at us whacking long balls at him.”

And that would be the same Paul Hall who had a stint with us at the end of his career. Clearly he sees some potential there. Like the other signings, it’s just a matter of whether it can be realised in his time here.
The coaching staff may also be seeing things in training that we’re not yet seeing in games.

He’s with us now, so the best we can do is wish him the best.

Am I right in thinking the Paul Hall who was with us did the honourable thing and admitted he was struggling to play at our level and 'ripped up his contract' rather than continue to play poorly and still take the money.

There's more important things in the world than football to be worried about but our current squad leaves me concerned for the season.
Roll on Saturday so we can really see what we have. Truly hope I will be pleasantly surprised.
