The Trust' progress.
Fri Sep 20, 2024 12:28 pm
The Huw Jenkins charge of Newport County is now well established. Whether you agree with decisions or not he has at least set out his stall as to which direction he wishes to take the club. In terms a style of play which is far less direct on the pitch and off the pitch he is clearly in control. And after five months or so, it is too early to judge the results. My view is that this season is about survival. I remain unconvinced that County can achieve our full potential whilst having no control over, nor able to benefit from an ancillary income, from the stadium in which we play. However I would hope that Huw Jenkins is dealing with that. I would not expect anything to be made public. Certainly not yet.
However where I would expect an update is with regards to the Newport County Supporters Trust. The Trust still exists. It is raising money. We were told that two Trust representatives would be on the board of Newport County. Does anyone know if any progress has been made on this?

There was a members meeting held on August 15th to discuss progress to that date using a hybrid in person/remote attendance method. A survey was issued to those who attended on 21st August. Since then, nothing that I am aware of.

I found the interview that the board did with 1912 Exiles over the summer quite enlightening.

In fairness they could be holding monthly meetings towards the end of months...

So did members of the Trust get to vote on who the board representatives should be?
Or is it a case of you pays your money but you don't get to take your choice?
