Golf Day Last Friday
Tue Sep 17, 2024 11:06 am
Apparently there was a charity golf day last Friday & County players were still in the bar at 1am Saturday morning. Anybody else heard anything on that?

I’m sceptical regarding the golf day hence me asking iif anyone else had heard that. However the informant regarding the other post is as close a relative to the subject as you can get.

I would wager that the JS situation is factual. He didn’t even make the bench for West Ham U21’s. It could be that HJ is freezing him out in the hope that he’ll just rip up his contract & walk away.

I can’t recall a time when a County player has ever willingly walked away without another club to go to. Makes more sense to sit on your contract and wait it out.
And even if he left by mutual consent at this stage, I’m still not sure he’d be allowed to sign for anyone outside of the window. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I s’pose there was Darren Garner in ‘06, but ‘twas a different time.

He could still go on loan or a permanent move to a non-league club. We wouldn't be able to replace him other than with a player who was out of contract before the EFL transfer window closed.

I was more questioning why spread 'gossip' about the players at a time when they have a minor injury crisis and have lost two games poorly. On the face of it the rumour about Seberry would explain why he hasn't been utilised thus far this season in a competitive match. If it were true then it sounds a bit like a 'Jadon Sancho' reaction to criticism (i.e verbal reaction and not apologising). You would hope that, if it were true, his parents would tell him he's best to apologise and move on.
The second rumour about the squad drinking until the early hours before the Swindon game has an element of the News Years Day home capitulation to FGR (?2012). If true I'm sure the Managerial team are aware of it and dealt with it. By publicising it (be it true or false) all that is achieved is to give the detractor element amongst the fan base some ammunition to use against the players. I would suggest it's sometimes better to sit on such stuff while a young, inexperienced squad is settling in...
