Just a thought.

No problem with Nelson being head coach. Anyone else think it might have been an idea to keep Graham Coughlan as manager?

Ironically, GC is exactly the kind of man you’d want to turn things around if things don’t work out with Jardim.
Other than sacking, another possible option, and one that might be more likely, is that we opt for a Lennie Lawrence type to work with him. For any coach to be thrust into the hot seat with no managerial experience is a big ask. I only hope that there’s time for him to learn his trade.

I'm sure Jardim has numbers in his phone that he can ask for advice should he feel he need it. As indeed will Jenkins. My guess is that Jardim believes he can work his way out of this...

I agree.
However if Jardim Nelson can't work it out he will move on and no doubt coach elsewhere. I'm also pretty sure Huw Jenkins will be able to move on unscathed.
For supporters it's not so easy. Those of us of a certain age will remember 1987/88/89. For those who don't, it's not as bad as losing a loved one. It is as bad as getting fired from your job or being dumped by your girl/boyfriend.

Surely if you'd been dumped by a girl in 1987/88/89, you may still remember the pain but you'd have moved on with your life by now. Not every woman was like that girl that dumped you, and not every owner of Newport County will be like Jerry Sherman...

I think the pain of losing your football club is pretty substantial! Part of our identity is tied up in the club we’ve supported often for many years or as in my case, all our lives.
Consequently, such an event is not just a passing heartache, it puts a considerable hole in people’s lives including often a hit to their social lives. It may help their bank balance though.

Use a bit of common as my Mam used to say. The point I'm making and hopefully putting in perspective is that Newport County losing League status should not be perceived as being as bad as a death in the family. But nonetheless is very painful.
As Eamon Dumphy put it in a sports programme over here...... 'Football isn't important but it is the most important of the unimportant things'.
For those of you fortunate enough to be under 45, losing a football leaves a very real gap in your lives.
