Well, I won’t put the blame heavily on Jardim. We must remember that he’s doing his best with what he’s been given, he didn’t pick this squad after all. I wouldn’t blame him if he headed for sunnier climes if things don’t work out well. He was never the manager, he was selected as a coach. If it all goes wrong Jenkins must take the blame just as he would expect the plaudits if the opposite happens! Let’s all hope for the latter as I doubt there’s a plan B.

On Jenkins recent record we'll have to wait for eight losses on the trot before he even thinks about changing Manager/Lead Coach. Then he'll dither for awhile after that before he makes the actual decision...

I could see Jardim remaining even if losing in this manner becomes the trend. As ruthless as he is, it would be tough for HJ to throw in the towel on him. Hard to do that and keep face after placing so much faith in this new style.
Reading between the lines, we know that Jardim wasn’t the first choice, and that candidates weren’t lining up at the door to coach HJ’s team. I’d imagine the list of potential replacements would be even shorter now, and you tend to find that a manager who knows the league, with a bit of experience in turning around sinking ships is a safer bet. But I can’t see HJ going for someone like that and I can’t see that kind of manager wanting the job unless a) they’re desperate for payday b) HJ is willing to budge in a few areas, chiefly, in the recruiting department.
All conjecture of course, and I’m still happy to wait and see what happens with this side. We’re here now, we’ve put all our eggs in one basket with this new way of doing things, so let’s hope it comes good. It wasn’t too long ago that we were singing this team’s praises so let’s take the rough with the smooth and give them a chance.
