My maths says that 10 wins and 6 draws = 36 points, so we are the same points as last year with a 10 goal better GD.Exile 1976 wrote:2018/19 : -

So far, despite the doom and gloom we’ve actually improved from the same time last year.

That is great obviously. However, did we have the Nov/Dec slump that we had this year. I honestly can’t remember. I know we did a late surge but I thought we stayed steady for most of the season. My short term memory is terrible these days.
Yes mate, we had a long poor run in the 16 games between game 11 and 26 (incl) we only won 3, drew 5 but lost 8.
Re: Grandstand - Swindon at a muddy Rodney Parade
109Swindon forum in melt down saying we're a bully team, and should be fined by league for playing on THAT pitch lol. Nothing about us doing double over them

Already changed it, plus one position higher.
Re: Grandstand - Swindon at a muddy Rodney Parade
111Cheers mate. Hopefully that is our occasional seasonal slump over then. As NGR says, we need to get a series of wins together. If we do that, (2 already) then look out L2!! Time to get excited again instead of worrying about a descent into a relegation battle.Exile 1976 wrote:pembsexile wrote:Exile 1976 wrote:2018/19 : -

Re: Grandstand - Swindon at a muddy Rodney Parade
112Truly immense performance from all 11 players.
Swindon top quality team but by the final whistle completely frustrated.
Our defence was so immense King had very little to do.
Good ref today.
Great crowd, pitch awful.
Just proves what I said in previous thread that we struggle against the dross in this league but
Pull out the stops against quality.
First time I am struggling with MOM got to be half a dozen contenders.
King 6 Poor kicking and take a book out of the Swindon keepers superior didtribution.
Baker 7 Good steady first game
Demetriou 8 Immense
OB 8 Immense
Inniss 8 Immense.
Haynes 7 Solid
Bennett 8 Immense quality.
Sheehan 6 Quiet afternoon but still got the goal.
Labadie 9 Everywhere my MOM
Abrahams 6 Plugged away
Matt 8 Handful all afternoon. Best performance this season.
Signing off
ps Forgot Greene 8 Countys Usain Bolt.
2 Cobras and Murghal Special Biriani here we come.

113They are not mowing the grass they are aerating the groundFrank Nouble 3 wrote:I cannot remember a wetter Autumn into mid January like this year.
It just seems to rain virtually every day.
Pitch has no chance with 3 teams plus the odd ladies Internationals.
Why do they mow the grass straight after every game.
Nothing grows this time of the year.
Seems totally pointless.
Re: Grandstand - Swindon at a muddy Rodney Parade
114Thought the pitch actually didn't play too badly, certainly not a mud bath. Usually pitiful sour grapes from the defeated visitors it would seem, complaining about the pitch.Comeonthecounty wrote:They are not mowing the grass they are aerating the groundFrank Nouble 3 wrote:I cannot remember a wetter Autumn into mid January like this year.

115I spent fifteen minutes on their forum. What a miserable bunch! I really hope they miss out on promotion after their arrogance e.g. not playing us or Cambridge next season.
Great result today.

Re: Grandstand - Swindon at a muddy Rodney Parade
116Great performance. Whole team was excellent. Labs bullied them for 90 mins and Jamma dominated their defence.
Re: Grandstand - Swindon at a muddy Rodney Parade
117Quite hilarious reading. Truth is we were, man for man, better all over the pitch. Did they really expect us to step aside and let them dictate the play? Terrific performances by Labadie, Bennett, Matt and Demetriou.countymadbel wrote:Swindon forum in melt down saying we're a bully team, and should be fined by league for playing on THAT pitch lol. Re: Grandstand - Swindon at a muddy Rodney Parade
118It was Swindon playing hoofball second half, and they weren't very good at it.Flynny's son has miraculously reappeared but,on Inniss's shoulders now.
Re: Grandstand - Swindon at a muddy Rodney Parade
119Amazing what an early goal can do for confidence. Very little evidence of recent tentative, panicky, hoof it anywhere football that has blighted our game of late. Indeed it was Swindon who demonstrated a lack of composure defensively, especially first half.
Re: Grandstand - Swindon at a muddy Rodney Parade
120Thought their left back, Caddis looked to be carrying a few pound excess, and (44) Edmonds-Green was particularly jittery. Must say, Danny Rose had an excellent game, collecting and distributing all over the pitch.
