Re: Grandstand - Forest Green v Exiles
2I fear a defeat with both Matt and Collins scoring for them. I hope I'm wrong.
Re: Grandstand - Forest Green v Exiles
3On 2nd September 1989 Newport AFC played Stroud who are now known as FGR in the Welsh Cup and won 3-1. It was only Newport AFC's 3rd match ever and the cup run ended at Ninian Park and defeat by Cardiff City.
Re: Grandstand - Forest Green v Exiles
4Kevin Roberts was in goal for them and played a couple for us later in the season when Birdy was injured.G Guest wrote:On 2nd September 1989 Newport AFC played Stroud who are now known as FGR in the Welsh Cup and won 3-1. Re: Grandstand - Forest Green v Exiles
5I believe I'm right saying we have never lost a league game at either of their grounds, just in a minor league cup or county cup.

9So our Top league scorer is on the bench.
Where are the goals coming from now?
How many league goals combined have the starting 11 scored?
I make it 9.

10Big mistake leaving Twines creativity out of the side......I know I'm not a Lg2 manager but to all others reading this, only my opinion.Frank Nouble 3 wrote:So our Top league scorer is on the bench.

Re: Grandstand - Forest Green v Exiles
13I'd prefer to see Twine in the side but am willing to see how it pans out. My guess is that it'll be a case of trying to contain them first half and then when they're tiring bring on the attacking talent to win the game.
Having said that I'll be happy to be wrong and see County go in 3-0 up.

Re: Grandstand - Forest Green v Exiles
14Without Twine I'd liked to have seen Janneh up with Proctor......I'm a Premier League manager in the making !!!
