Is it to late to rearrange a postponed game for Tuesday or Wednesday night because it's going to be a big gap now between our last fixture and next Sunday because the lads will be lacking game time now
And better for fixture list
Re: Midweek
2Flynn was talking up the opportunity now to prepare properly for the Brighton game, so I'd imagine that'd be a bigger priority than squeezing in an extra league match now. If we go out of the cup a week tomorrow though, I'd hope we make every effort to clear the backlog as soon as possible so things don't get even harder if we have further postponements because of weather or COVID.
Re: Midweek
3The two postponed opponents Exeter and Southend, will probably be thankful for a break in the season rather than wanting a midweek away match squeezed in. They both play next Saturday. Our players will probably think the same.

Re: Midweek
5I wouldn't be surprised if we play a "behind closed doors" friendly this week, especially if we have new players coming in who are not cup tied.
Re: Midweek
6The weather forecast for the next week or so is below freezing at night and around 4c daytime so a similiar situation as today. The rugby play on the pitch next saturday which could put the Brighton game in doubt. Not looking great tbh.
Re: Midweek
8Switching fixtures is no longer allowed. Anyway, that would certainly hand the advantage to Brighton.mad norm wrote:Dear Brighton. Please can we play at your place... We fear no one
Edit: It was switching fixtures for financial gain that is no longer allowed. There is no financial gain if there are no supporters..... hmmm....

Tottenham were handed a tie by default earlier on this season in the Carabao Cup when Orient couldn't fulfill the tie by a certain date due to Covid so it could happen

13Neil has beaten me to the answer. I don't think it likely but I would not rule it out.Coxy wrote:On what basis ?Stan A. Einstein wrote:Another possibility is that Brighton are handed the tie by default.
Re: Midweek
14Rubbish, the FA wouldn't give Brighton a bye because of a frozen pitch. It would be played at the soonest opportunity. The issue for the league cup game at Orient was totally different.
Re: Midweek
15There's an obvious difference. At that stage of the Carabao Cup, the rounds were being played almost back to back, no free weeks to play a postponed match. Also, the FA Cup has already accommodated a much delayed match. The Barrow v Wimbledon postponed first round tie wasn't played until the Thursday of the second round ties. Wimbledon won and played their second round tie three days later..neilcork68 wrote:Coxy wrote:On what basis ?Stan A. Einstein wrote:Another possibility is that Brighton are handed the tie by default.
