Many moons ago I joined a local building society who were saying about sponsoring the club,in some way---. Can anyone throw some light on any later developments rom that scheme ??

Re: A local Building society helped??
4The deal was,you could open an account where the Monmouthshire would give a small percentage of interest to the club. The amount was very small and that was before interest rates plummeted to the now 0.1%.From memory,Bert had asked the question at the time and I worked out that on £1000,there would be interest of £4,I can’t remember if that was for the investor and the club or £4 between them.It would be a worthless exercise now,if it’s even still going.
Affinity Instant Account sponsoring Newport County ???
5IAround about the early part of 2014, a building society was doing a sponsorship of Newport County. which was open for supporters to join --I dont know what the sponsorship was , I think it was a percentage of the rate of interest or whatever. I just wondered if it proved benifitial to the club.in the years following. or if it still active. Come on the Port !! Bob Bassett

6I have been going to that society practically every Monday since April 2014, and I did notice the "Drag---- ons" life size cutout in colours but I am amazed that County were not to be seen- still I've done well with my savings.
