Many moons ago I joined a local building society who were saying about sponsoring the club,in some way---. Can anyone throw some light on any later developments rom that scheme ??

No we had a special deal

The deal was,you could open an account where the Monmouthshire would give a small percentage of interest to the club.The amount was very small and that was before interest rates plummeted to the now 0.1%.From memory,Bert had asked the question at the time and I worked out that on £1000,there would be interest of £4,I can’t remember if that was for the investor and the club or £4 between them.It would be a worthless exercise now,if it’s even still going.

IAround about the early part of 2014, a building society was doing a sponsorship of Newport County. which was open for supporters to join --I dont know what the sponsorship was , I think it was a percentage of the rate of interest or whatever. I just wondered if it proved benifitial to the club.in the years following. or if it still active. Come on the Port !! Bob Bassett

I have been going to that society practically every Monday since April 2014, and I did notice the "Drag---- ons" life size cutout in colours but I am amazed that County were not to be seen- still I've done well with my savings.
