78No chance, always out of position when defending. Maybe put Baker back in as a cup specialist.rodneyboy wrote:I think Wilmott needs to start on Saturday.
Re: Grandstand: Exiles v Walsall (KO 7PM)
79Not great but a half decent workmanlike point. Walsall one of the better sides I've seen us play this season. Twine had the chance to win it but they also spurned a couple. Poor first half, improved second. Willmott made a difference. Pitch condition is a concern considering not much rugby has been played on it, we've still got 16 home games to go.

Found our level?
We're top of the league FFS.
Re: Grandstand: Exiles v Walsall (KO 7PM)
82Maybe worth considering both in a change of formation with a back 4?The Salamander wrote:No chance, always out of position when defending. Maybe put Baker back in as a cup specialist.rodneyboy wrote:I think Wilmott needs to start on Saturday.
Is the league more important than the cup given our position now? Then of course there could be another glamour tie to be had in the 3rd round ?
Difficult decision for the manager. But that's what he's paid good money for.
Re: Grandstand: Exiles v Walsall (KO 7PM)
83Not a great performance but certainly improved second half. Walsall simply stopped us playing and impressed me. Another point though and still top of the League.
Re: Grandstand: Exiles v Walsall (KO 7PM)
84Wilmott done well when he came on but he's not a 90 min player. I would've kept Baker in the side after the last cup game. Haynes shouldnt be starting though. The Salamander wrote:No chance, always out of position when defending. Re: Grandstand: Exiles v Walsall (KO 7PM)
85Must by a mile be our worst performance this season.
It was totally clueless.
Not 1 stand out performance.
Only robbie and the keeper came out of that dross performance with any credit.
Charlie & OB were a disgrace knocking the Ref who had an outstanding game tonight.
Walsall by a mile the better side.
We cannot play that poorly again this season.
Thanks to a mare from their keeper we get a point.
We are top but nothing to rejoice in that 97 minutes at all.
Townsend 6 Faultless
Cooper 5 No impression
Mickey 5 Awful by his standards
Matty 5 Awful first half
Haynes 5 Nothing to boast about
Josh 6 well below Saturday but kept at it.
Twine 6 at least had a few pops at the target.but what a miss
Proctor 4 No impression
Amond 4 Did nothing all night
Shephard 5 Poor by his standards
Labs 6 Just so so.
Abrahams 4 Did nothing
Robbie 7 MOM as every centre was spot on
Devitt 4 Did nothing
Kevin Not on long enough for a score.
MOM in reality The Ref
Seriously Charlie & OB are getting worse every game.
No ideahow to complain but they were a joke tonight.

Re: Grandstand: Exiles v Walsall (KO 7PM)
86A point gained really, never really got going. Fair play to Walsall though, who deprived us of space to play our game and looked more than capable when they were in possession.
Not the best day at the office but a point is a point.
One small note from me, and I won't slag any players off while making it. Ellison is well worth a start in my eyes, his touch awareness and energy is better than others at the moment. Stop worrying about his age and play him - please.

Re: Grandstand: Exiles v Walsall (KO 7PM)
87It seems to me that we always struggle when we don't win the 2nd and 50/50 balls, which was especially true in the first.
We did much better in this respect in the second half.
Maybe in fairness to Walsall they came at us to gain/stop us winning those 50/50 balls.
A few players like Proctor just didn't chase those balls.
If you can't win them yourself make sure the other don't win it cleanly.
Still top with a game in hand and only 17 more points to avoid relegation.

Re: Grandstand: Exiles v Walsall (KO 7PM)
88Although that was grim I would have taken 4 points from six over the last two matches.Hopefully it may help us to win on Saturday but changes have to be made with Wilmott, Baker and Ellison starting against Salford.
Re: Grandstand: Exiles v Walsall (KO 7PM)
89Fair play to Walsall, they had a plan to stop us dictating the game and it worked very well. Right from the start they made us work very hard just to get to the halfway line in possession of the ball. Other teams have retreated and defended in their own half. Townsend was not able to roll the ball to a defender in space, that got Dolan in a complete muddle. I thought their plan might be run themselves into the ground and use all five subs to replace tired legs, but fair play they did it the traditional way and thoroughly deserved a point.
Re: Grandstand: Exiles v Walsall (KO 7PM)
90Two lethargic performances this week but, still managed 4 points.Good to see that we are all down because we only drew, shows how well we have started.Flynny now needs to regroup and improve the performance for Saturday,we don’t want to lose momentum.
