Newport County v Exeter City.
While this season is County's seventh successive as a League Two club, it is Exeter's eighth successive as a League Two club. Of Exeter's eight league games played thus far, there has been at least one late goal in six of those games.
Exeter currently have ex County defender Gary Warren among their squad.

2013 / 2014:
Exeter City 0-2 Newport County.
County lead 1-0 at the break thanks to Conor Washington. Harry Worley, signed from Oxford in the summer, scored midway through the second half. That was Worley's second goal for the club after scoring the other on his debut in the seasons opener v Accrington Stanley.

Newport County 1-1 Exeter City.
Played on a Sunday at Rodney Parade, Harry Worley gave the Grecian's the lead early in the second half via an og. County were level within a minute from Lee Minshull after the Exeter keeper dropped the ball. With eleven games to play, County were in mid table while Exeter were eight points clear of relegation with nine to play. Both sides had now won only one of their latest fourteen league games.

2014 / 2015:
Newport County 2-2 Exeter City.
For a second successive season, the clubs met on a Sunday at Rodney Parade.The Grecian were ahead 2-0 at the break with goals from Tom Nichols and Graham Cummins. Early second half goals from Yan Klukowski and Max Porter earned County a point in front of a crowd of just over four thousand. After seventeen games each, County were ninth while Exeter were twelth.

Exeter City 2-0 Newport County.
Both sides still had a chance of the play-offs going into this game with both sides having six to play. Exeter took the lead very late on with around fourteen minutes to play from David Wheeler, ten minutes after coming off the bench. Exeter sealed victory close to full time when Ismail Yakubu was sent off, conceding a penalty at the same time. Ryan Harley scored the penalty. With five each to play, County were now seventh and Exeter one point behind in tenth.

2015 / 2016:
Newport County 1-1 Exeter City.
Having lost 3-0 at Rodney Parade against Crawley four days before this game which proved to be Terry Butchers final game in charge, this was John Sheridan's first game in charge. After a goalless first half, Joel Grant put the Grecian's ahead around sixty minutes. Lenell John-Lewis got the equalizer after seventy three minutes. This draw left County bottom on six points after eleven games while Exeter were eleventh after eleven games.

Exeter City 1-1 Newport County.
Warren Feeney had taken over from Sheridan as manager come this game. This was his sixth game in charge during which County gained eleven points.
Play-off hopefuls Exeter took the lead during the early stages of the second half from Jordan Tillson. Scott Boden got the leveler for County with around six minutes remaining,  his fourth goal in three games. County were now twentieth, six points clear of the drop with sixteen to play while Exeter were fourteenth, eight points from the play-offs with fifteen to play.

2016 / 2017.
Newport County 1-4 Exeter City.
This was a sixth successive league defeat in what was Graham Westley's twelth game in charge. Despite the heavy defeat, the games opening goal wasn't until first half injury time when Ollie Watkins put the Grecian's ahead. Watkins increased their lead shortly into the second half before David Wheeler made it 3-0 on fifty three minutes. Sean Rigg scored with about fourteen minutes remaining before Watkins completed a hatrick well into injury time. County were now bottom after twenty two games, five points from safety, while Exeter rose to eleventh.

Exeter City 0-1 Newport County.
This was Mike Flynn's seventh game in charge.
With both sides having six to play, County won this encounter against all the odds.
The games only goal came from Tom Owen-Evans around fifty three minutes which was his only goal this season. With five to play, County were now three points from safety while Exeter were among the play-offs.

2017 / 2018.
Exeter City 1-0 Newport County.
The games only goal came on fifty seven minutes from Lee Holmes in this early season encounter. Exeter now had a two points lead at the top after five games while County were seventh.

Newport County 2-1 Exeter City.
County went ahead early on in the sixth minute from Padraig Amond and retained that lead by half time. Jayden Stockley leveled for the Grecian's early on in the second half. The games only other goal came from Robbie Wilmott midway through the second half. After twenty six games, County were eleventh, three points behind seventh placed Exeter.

2018 / 2019.
Exeter City 1-1 Newport County. 
This was the third league game of the season for both clubs. Jayden Stockley put Exeter ahead around twenty one minutes. With around ten minutes remaining, Mark Harris, on loan from Cardiif, scored his first goal for County.

Newport County 1-0 Exeter City.
Seven days before County traveled north to Middlesbrough, County won this encounter with the games only goal coming from Jamile Matt around seventy minutes. After twenty seven games, County were now five points adrift of the play-offs (six taking goal difference into account) while Exeter were eighth.

Striker Jamille Matt returns from a ban for a Newport side who have not lost a home league game since February.

Centre-backs Mickey Demetriou (broken leg) and Ryan Innis (suspended) will not feature, but full-back George Nurse is back in contention.

Leaders Exeter, who are unbeaten in the league this season, are without Gary Warren, Lee Holmes and Nicky Ajose.

Midfielder Nigel Antangana is close to a return from injury but will not be ready for the Newport trip.

Well done indeed! legend is a word banded about to easily in this day and age, I have seen people on these boards refer to flynny as a legend but to me he won't be that until he has actually won something with us "ie" promotion.
But Ron Jones is a true legend! not only of our club but of our city also a truly great man, so I hope the club are not having a minute's silence to mark ron's passing, a minutes applause would be more apt or if it were up to me 2 minutes.

RIP Ron, a true legend.
