With four games remaining to complete the league table fixtures, County have the initiative knowing that win all four and they'll progress to the play-offs.
2012 / 2013:
Macclesfield 1-1 Newport County:
A goal shortly before the break from Tony James gave County a half time advantage.
Striker Matthew Barnes-Homer equalized for the Silkmen with around ten minutes remaining.
Newport County 4-1 Macclesfield:
This re-arranged meeting was played on a very wet Thursday evening.
Macclesfield took the lead in the first five minutes before County were ahead 3-1 at the break with goals from Jolley, a penalty from Sandell and a third from Willmott.
Willmott got his second of the game midway through the second half and the ref blew for full time moments into injury time as a heavy shower teemed down.
2018 / 2019:
Newport County 3-3 Macclesfield:
Macclesfield, who were bottom before this game with just three points from ten games, were two up within eleven minutes. Butler got one back on the half hour mark before Demetriou leveled the score near the hour from the penalty spot. Macclesfield went in front again with their second penalty of the game with less than ten minutes on the clock. Defeat appeared on the cards until Matt equalized deep into injury time. Ten players were booked by referee Trevor Kettle who is possibly the worst performing referee i've witnessed at Rodney Parade in a game involving County.
Current L2 positions:
6. Forest Green 43 +21 70pts
7. Exeter 43 +10 65pts
-------------------------------------------------------
8. Carlisle 43 +4 64pts

Re: Grandstand - Macclesfield Away
2This would be a first if I was actually going. The only time I’ve seen County at Moss Rose we were playing Nantwich.
Does that mean you’ve seen someone worse than him reffing at Rodney Parade? If so then I’m guessing a Welsh women’s match?referee Trevor Kettle who is possibly the worst performing referee i've witnessed at Rodney Parade in a game involving County

Nope, Rugby included. Yesterdays ref v CrossKeys was a typical example of poor refereeing.

7Does anyone know where I can find a link to listen to the game online? BBC Wales doesn't seem to be available.

Re: Grandstand - Macclesfield Away
10Judging by a few posters on here when he came on, on Saturday, that seems like a decent replacement Rob. Hope Jamma is not too badly injured though, we will need him on the run-in.County Exile wrote:One change - McKirdy in for Matt

13Kick off delayed 10 mins due to congestion getting into ground.
Yes Mike - McKirdy looked very lively when he came on. Matt on bench but didn't appear in the warm-up apparently.

14Sky Sports saying that the start has been delayed due to fans protesting apparently. They have marched from the Town hall and are now outside the ground.County Exile wrote:Kick off delayed 10 mins due to congestion getting into ground.
