It's a long old trip, at least 6 or 7 pints in length, and we need to accurately judge how pissed we can get away with being.
Depending on how many are travelling by coaches you may get pulled by Police on the A19 at the Exalby Services just inside the Teesside boundary. They tend to hold coaches in layby then take to ground in batches of 4 or 5. You will be taken straight to the ground and coaches parked right outside your stand area in East Stand.
If you get there early enough and allowed away from the ground then Doc Browns and Ironopolis club are a 10 minute walk through the subways towards town.

Thanks for that mate. So take enough cans to last me 5 and a half hours just in case

hope the coaches dont get searched for beer then. We got all way into Sheff Wed coach park only for south yorks finest to start searching the buses and vans. A lad in our mini bus had just come off nights and his missus had packed his sarnies and 4 cans of beer for him. Cops found it and turned the mini bus round and blue lighted us all way back to Teesside . No one would own up to the cans so they couldnt prosecute the lad just took it out on everyone.

But if it was a van full of rugby fans the OB would give them a pat on the back and tell them to enjoy themselves

That's mental. No wonder the public has so little respect for the police these days. Common sense does the trick, but this seems to be beyond the intellectual capabilities of your average copper these days. In fact, if they can hold a conversation and use some common sense, they're probably over-qualified.

suppose its an early night ready for early start in the morning. 5 hour run up to Teesside for some.
Whatever the result enjoy your visit to Boro and if you do get chance have a look at the transporter.
For the older generation who might have visited Ayresome Park, the old gates that were locked on us in 86 when we nearly died are in front of the main West Stand. Now a focal point for lots of reasons.

Thanks for that

But our transporter Bridge is better than yours

Think ours is bettter, had the pleasure of visiting yours when visiting Rowecord , from memory its a dull browny colour with the cables going back over the road and houses . Ours now has viewing areas at the top accessible by lifts . You will see it from the stadium anyway.

BBC have just done an piece on the Transporter Derby featuring both bridges.
Ours is probably more famous because of its starring role in Auf Wiedersein Pet when it was "dismantled" and sold to some indians in USA. Remember being on train to match after the series and a load of Spurs fans caught sight of the bridge and actually thought we had built a new one after selling the old one.

Delighted with how many County fans are going up. Great effort. Have a great day everyone, safe and timely journeys and enjoy the match.
I have a non-refundable coach ticket to London, so I'll be over at Leyton Orient v Maidstone United (£19 to get in)... all the best everyone!...go get 'em!!
