Here's an idea, get Gambin and Telford on and try playing it to feet for the last 10 minutes, instead of just launching it long

Re: Grandstand: Exiles v Carlisle
69Another 2 points dropped, what excuse will MF use again I wonder, the sad thing is that there is no way FGR would be interested in him, his credibility has well and truly dropped off the edge the world.
Re: Grandstand: Exiles v Carlisle
70Shocking performance, clueless tactics and no attempt to change things - one like for like substitution and then brings Ellison on with under 5 mins of normal time left - although we did actually seem to create more when he came on than in the previous 85 minutes - just too little too late!
Re: Grandstand: Exiles v Carlisle
71Think we can all agree that was a painful watch. Amazingly up to sixth with Exeter and Salford losing.
A lot of criticism has been aimed at the managers tactics, yet I think equally if not more importantly is the players mindset.
MF has said recently that there is no pressure on them and it is more on the other teams challenging for a play off spot. It looks the complete opposite to me. County are going further and further away from the attitude they approached games at the beginning of the season when they were playing far more freely. Now I'm seeing an increasingly tentative side, bereft of confidence and belief. resorting more and more to 'hoofball. We've seen it before when we are challenging towards the top of the table.
The management team need to be working on the players mindsets as much as tactics. Without the former, being right the later is irrelevant.

72That was Flynny all over.Happy not to lose, just kept whacking it to Taylor,I guess he thinks they can't score if we do that.Ellison only came on because Matty was injured.Gambin and Telford should have come on just to try and change something but,not losing was the aim.

73According to the argus today , labadie said the players were going to go full throttle for the next two games!..OLDCROMWELLIAN wrote:Think we can all agree that was a painful watch. Amazingly up to sixth with Exeter and Salford losing.

Re: Grandstand: Exiles v Carlisle
74It's actually a better result for us than for Carlisle. I can't believe they didn't take a grip of the second half. It was awful as a spectacle. I actually thought Amond got more involved in his 25(?) minutes than Maynard.
Re: Grandstand: Exiles v Carlisle
75Apart from moving to 6th , I can't think of one positive aspect of the game . I also assume that it will be more or less the same team on Saturday , maybe with Amond starting.
